Karachi is Pakistan's largest city and its commercial capital, with an estimated population of 16–20 million people. It is one of the most populous Muslim-majority cities in the world. The city's Muslim community is richly diverse — Sunni Muslims (predominantly of the Hanafi school, represented by both Deobandi and Barelvi traditions) form the majority, alongside a significant Shia community and smaller Ismaili and Ahmadi populations.
